Help has many faces
About us
Since 2011, we have been providing humanitarian aid in case of emergencies in the Czech Republic or abroad where we also focus on development projects.
The Centre of Relief and Development Diaconia ECCB was established in 2011 when it took over the coordination of flood relief in the Czech Republic which Diaconia ECCB had been involved in since 1997.
We are dedicated to humanitarian aid and development cooperation abroad. In the Czech Republic, we help with our volunteers after natural disasters and support the preparedness of municipalities for possible emergencies.
Every year, we announce a Lenten collection and use the proceeds to support those in need, for example we could support the education of children and young people at the Tahaddi Community Education Centre in Beirut.
We are an integral part of Diaconia ECCB which is the second biggest provider of social, health and educational services throughout the Czech Republic and is founded by the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (ECCB).
Our mission
Our Centre of Relief and Development Diaconia ECCB engages nexus-sensitive solutions to help people in crisis situations in the Czech Republic and around the world and also to stabilise their life situation and live dignified lives.
Our vision
The most vulnerable people are more resilient to withstand life crises situations and climate shocks and are also more self-sufficient in building their future.
We help in the Czechia
We go all over the Czech Republic with our volunteers when a flood or other natural disaster strikes. We also work on a municipalities‘ emergency preparedness. Last but not least, we help refugees, especially those who found safety and home within the Czech Republic after the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
We help abroad
We provide humanitarian aid in countries affected by natural disasters or social conflicts. For example, we have been helping in Myanmar and Bangladesh for a long time. In recent years, we have focused on aid in Ukraine, Lebanon and Jordan. We are also involved in development projects, for example in Cambodia.
